1. Gardens by The Bay
You are wrong if you think this massive scale tropical park is just an another garden. What makes this garden so special is Supertree Light Show at night. A view of electric trees emitting magical lights in harmony with breathtaking Singapore’s night view is priceless. It’s such a pity that I only had iPhone camera to capture magnificent moments.
2. Singapore Botanic Gardens
Yes. It’s another big garden in Singapore. It’s so big Singapore is trying to have it registered with UNESCO (decision will be out in June). It’s a very famous dating place for couples and its national orchid garden is really worth a visit. This garden has more kinds of orchid plants than everywhere else in the universe and its admission is also cheap.
3. Sentosa Island
Sentosa Island is the center of Singapore’s tourism and leisure. Despite its tiny size of 4km long and 1.5km wide, Sentosa definitely lives up to its reputation offering tons of stuffs to enjoy including Universal Studio Singapore. Kids will absolutely love it.
4. China Town
If you find Singapore is a place to eat, Singapore china town will be a heaven. The town is filled with countless good eating places not widely known to foreign travelers, and Singapore’s signature ice flake desert is believed to be created in this town. Not only that, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum is right here. This is a perfect place to eat and pray, but not really to love.
5. Merlion Park
There’s nothing much to see here apart from the giant Merlion fountain, half lion half fish guardian of Singapore. But it became customary for travelers to visit this place and take commemorative photos and post them on Facebook. Even if you are sarcastic for now, you will, somehow, feel obligated to visit and leave a photo in front of the statue. Shown on the right center of above picture is the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel with ship-shaped structure on the top.
6. Marina Bay Sands Hotel & Sky Park
Even if you haven’t been to Singapore, you must have seen or heard about the hotel. These three buildings supporting giant ship on the top with a swimming pool at 57 floors high is the Marina Bay Sands. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of enjoying sunbathing and city view with a glass of mojito on your hand from up high. Even if you are not rich enough to stay in the luxurious hotel, you could at least afford Sky park observatory at this hotel. The view from the park is the best in Singapore.
7. Singapore Zoo & Night Safari
Why do we always have to see animals in a cage from afar? Here you can mingle with animals freely roaming in open habitat. What’s more, Night Safari right next to the zoo is the world’s first night zoo. Both places are strongly recommendable, but if you have to choose one, Night Safari is the place to go.
8. Orchard Road
Most people go to Singapore to shop, eat and rest. And Orchard, a world class shopping district, is the whole reason why we must go to Singapore to shop. Dozens of mega shopping malls along the road offer a wide range of products from luxury designers to local brands, not to mention trendy and fashionable restaurants.
9. Southern Ridges
There are 8 walks connecting 3 parks. Not to mention wonderful walking trails and dense forest, it has got breathtaking views overlooking the city. This is the perfect place to get away from millions of crowds in the city and chill out. It has a million dollar sunset.
