flickr/joi |
Shinjuku is located in the center of
Tokyo Metropolis, and the headquarters of Tokyo Metropolitan Government are here. It is
a traveler-friendly district with modern buildings and spacious street
arrangements, though traditional Japanese stuffs can hardly be found.
Higashi (East) Shinjuku is a street of youth and
shopping where you can enjoy skewered foods at Japanese style bars, and Nishi
(West) Shinjuku is an office town with highly concentrated skyscrapers where
you can have a luxury drink at hotel sky lounges.
Up to the north is a Tokyo’s representative red-light
district, Kabukicho.

fashion scene. It is the home to youth culture, fashion, shopping, and most
significantly, cosplay. Youngsters with unique styles and open-air cafes will

This rather wealthy neighborhood is frequented by

Asakusa is the right place to feel a little bit of
Japanese tradition inside of the rapidly evolving city of Tokyo. Surrounding Sensoji temple, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist
temple, shrines, temples and statues are harmoniously preserved. You will never

7. Shimokitazawa: For Artistic Soul
flickr/marumeganechan |
Shimokitazawa
is famous for small vintage shops and pretty cafes, unlike fancy fashion and
clubs in Shibuya or Roppongi. When tired of neon jungles and building forests,
simply strolling through the street listening to the music here will boost your
artistic senses.
8. Daikanyama: For Luxury Tastes

the stores between upscale housings packed with stylish items on a fine sunny
day.
