Are you going to Nagasaki? Then don't forget about a scrupulous travel plan. The locals from this super tourist friendly town stand ready to give you a hand. Although the city was once victimized by an atomic bomb, Nagasaki brims over with peace
and friendliness.

The nightscape is stunning in Nagasaki. In
fact, it was once picked as one of the top 3 world most beautiful nightscapes. The
most common way to get to the Inasayama Observatory is via Inasayama ropeway
(roughly 20 min) but via Kazagashira Park is also just as
Inasayama Observatory
The charm of the nightscape highlights at the observatory on the peak of the mountain (333m). It takes only 5 minutes from Fuchi
Shrine via the rope-way. There's also free shuttle service from
Nagasaki Station runs every 15~20 minutes. Make sure you don't get lost on the way, there's a graveyard nearby scary enough give you a heart attack at night.
Kazagashira Park
Famous for a statue of Sakamoto
Ryoma (Link), the park is situated on the mountain, the peak of which
is 40 minutes away from where the temples are densely located. Though there is a
certain recommended hiking route, any route will take you to the top.
2. Chugoku Saikan Keikaen
Japanese epicures would recognize Nagasaki as
home of Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup. Chugoku Saikan
Keikaen is a kind of a never-to-miss restaurant for them. Near the restaurant
is the Nakashima River cutting across many tourism spots.
3. Megane Bridge (Spectacles Bridge)

If you walk along the Nakashima River, you
will find an antique western-style bridge en route, which some people believe
resembles a pair of spectacles. This bridge is by far the oldest arch-shaped
bridge in Japan and a legend has it that the lovely relationship will be
fulfilled if a couple walk over together.
4. Hakushika Doza
Hakushika
Doza is a real good pub where you can have your fishcake done by a master. The combination of warm sake and a piece of fishcake is the core of Japanese drinking culture.
5. Nagasaki Peace Park &
Nagasaki Atomic
Bomb Museum

Nagasaki has a tragic history of an atomic attack resulting in loss of 74,000 lives in August 9th, 1945. Nagasaki Atomic Bomb
Museum portrays, in a rather detached voice, the postwar damage and agonies and
other implications of the bombing. Nagasaki civilian, the most serious
peaceniks in Japan along with Hiroshima's civilians, proclaim the 'Nagasaki
Peace Declaration' in August, 2014 with hope of the world peace. No more
Nagasaki!, no more war!
6. Ensui (Restaurant)
It's a traditional Japanese with a small
Japanese style garden. The best part of this restaurant is the set menu in
which you can enjoy various kinds of traditional dishes at the same time. You
can also enjoy your dinner in a private room.
7. Glover Garden, グラバー園

Nagasaki was a center of Western influences
such as Portuguese, Dutch, and Scotch back in 1500's. Glover Garden was a residential community of Scottish merchants who loved
Nagasaki which is now open to the public.
8. Pachinko (Slot Machine)
Mira |
It's the most popular nightlife area of
Nagasaki lined with izakayas, bars, clubs and etc. At most bars and izakayas, there
is an extra charge for getting a table if you use a table, but people usually drink standing.
10. Saromanian (Jazz Bar)
Mira |
The owner reached 69 this year running this store for 27 year. But he is still a good saxophonist performing with famous
jazz musicians. Many jazz musicians from all over Japan often visit here when they come to
Nagasaki. Come here if you love jazz music!

She spent her life here and there in Philippines, Korea, Japan, and Malaysia. She loves travelling so much that even a single penny she makes goes to her travel expense. Rumor has it that she is going to file for personal bankruptcy any time soon.
